Oelslager Highlights Recently Passed Legislation

COLUMBUS—Speaker Pro Tempore Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) is pleased to announce the recent passage of multiple pieces of legislation.
Each bill is highlighted below:
- Authorize certain nurses to sign hospital patient documents (89-1): Senate Bill 81 will allow hospital-based advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants to sign certain documents necessary to process patients within the facility where current law requires a physician signature.
- Number state ballot issues consecutively based on prior election (90-0): House Bill 271 will adjust the current numbering convention for statewide ballot issues to prevent repeat issue numbers from being used in future elections.
- Allow child support orders for children over 18 with a disability (85-4): Co-sponsored by Oelslager, House Bill 338 will clarify how courts award child support in divorce cases for children with disabilities who are beyond the age of 18 and unable to support themselves.
- Authorize private vendor contract for specialty license plates (87-3): House Bill 194 will create a consumer optional vendor license plate program, allowing organizations and individuals to create personalized and specialty license plates.
- Exempt certain public service workers' forms from disclosure (89-0): House Bill 265 will exempt certain sensitive information about first responders from disclosure under public records law.
