Fowler Arthur Announces NatureWorks Grants in Ashtabula and Geauga Counties

COLUMBUS –State Representative Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula) today announced funding for two Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) NatureWorks Grants within the district.

Every year, ODNR awards NatureWorks Grants to communities around the state to assist with the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of recreational areas.

Projects receiving grants are as follows:

Liberty Street Park: $16,629 for installing new playground equipment 
Thompson Ledges Township Park: $16,409 for extending trails to connect them to other trails
 

“Local park improvements allow more residents to enjoy our recreational spaces and promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Fowler Arthur.

NatureWorks projects are funded through the Ohio Parks and Natural Resources Bond Issue, which was approved by Ohio voters in November 1993.
