State Reps. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) and Sara Carruthers (R-Hamilton) will be introducing the “Parents’ Bill of Rights Act,” which will protect and preserve the fundamental role that parents play in the education of their children.

COLUMBUS - House Bill 196 was favorably reported out of the House Health Committee, announced State Representative Sara Carruthers (R-Hamilton). The bi-partisan legislation would require individuals to hold a license by the State Medical Board in order to practice as a surgical assistant. The Board may grant waivers from the license to those assistants who work only at a hospital or ambulatory surgical facility.  

COLUMBUS - Today, the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 468, a key measure in expanding Ohio’s mental health resources. 

COLUMBUS - Monday, the State Controlling Board approved the release of over $6 million to the Clean Ohio Trails Fund. Butler County has been awarded nearly $340,000 of that money to extend the existing Miami and Erie Canal Trail. 

COLUMBUS - Wednesday, the Ohio House Behavioral Health and Recovery Committee reported out two key pieces of legislation, House Bill 468 and House Bill 328, to better support Ohioans battling drug addiction and mental health crises.
