Economic Development Project Approved in Defiance County
COLUMBUS –MetalX, LLC, was recently awarded tax credit funding that will result in local economic development and job creation in Defiance, announced State Representative Roy Klopfenstein (R-Haviland).
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved a 1.9%, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the company to build a new 190-acre location in the 82nd House District. The funding is expected to create 180 full-time positions and generate $14.4 million in new annual payroll.
“It is great news for Defiance County that MetalX, an aluminum recycling facility, is setting up shop here,” said Klopfenstein. “This investment will create new job opportunities which will help our local economy and families.”
The MetalX facility will specialize in assembling, sorting, recycling, and wholesale distribution of aluminum scrap and waste materials. The plant is expected to be fully operational by early 2027.
