Ferguson Sworn into the 134th General Assembly
COLUMBUS – State Representative Ron Ferguson (R-Wintersville) yesterday was sworn into the 134th General Assembly. He will represent residents of the 96th Ohio house district, which includes Jefferson County, Monroe County and part of Belmont County.
“I am honored and excited to begin my term as State Representative for Ohio’s 96th house district,” said Ferguson. “I look forward to working with my colleagues here in Columbus to create good legislation that will improve the livelihoods of my constituents back home.”
Born in Wintersville and raised in the Ohio Valley, Ferguson is passionate about funding for local communities. Ferguson believes the Ohio Valley is on the verge of an opportunity to create thousands of good jobs through the development of the gas and oil industry. He is very involved in creating good jobs throughout Eastern Ohio and is currently working to develop an entertainment center to bring jobs and fun actives for families in the community.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from The Ohio State University. During his time at OSU, Representative Ferguson was a Politics, Society and Law Scholar. He has spent five years working as a television journalist and has most recently worked for WTOV-TV in Steubenville. Ferguson resides in Wintersville.
