Ferguson Announces $4 Million for the Monroe County Port Authority

State Representatives Ron Ferguson (R-Wintersville) today announces the approval of $4 million for the Monroe County Port Authority. The funding was approved during Monday’s State Controlling Board meeting.

“I supported our budget bill last year, which included this significant funding coming to our local port authority,” Ferguson said. “These dollars will be put to good use through construction costs that will improve our waterfront infrastructure for marine terminals on the river.”

The appropriations were awarded through the Ohio Maritime Assistance Program. The program provides funding to assist water public port authorities to help repair, rebuild and revitalize maritime transportation systems.

Ferguson supported House Bill 110 last year, the state budget, which provided this funding for the program.

The next State Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 29.
