COLUMBUS – State Rep. Rodney Creech (R-West Alexandria) is pleased to announce that Montgomery County was recently awarded $230,000 through the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program to tear down unsafe, blighted buildings and prepare those sites for new opportunities.

House Republicans secured $21.5 million per fiscal year in the State Budget for the program, spurring economic development across Ohio.

“I’m proud to support efforts that help our communities move forward,” said Creech. “Investing in demolition is really an investment in our future. By removing unsafe and abandoned structures, we are creating space for new growth, supporting local development, and building a stronger environment for families and businesses.”

The Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program was created by the 134th General Assembly and has proven successful in helping spur economic development and revitalizing properties throughout the state. Since 2021, the program has invested more than $310 million to support nearly 6,200 demolition projects across every county in Ohio.
