COLUMBUS - State Rep. Richard Dell’Aquila (D-Seven Hills) today announced the Controlling Board’s approval of several funding requests from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office to provide for election-related activities ahead of the November 2024 general election.

“The importance of exercising our privilege and responsibility to vote as envisioned by our Founders cannot be over emphasized,” said Rep. Dell’Aquila. “Free citizens in our republic remain so when we all voice our concerns and democratically select candidates to govern. The measures and expenditures announced are critical to assuring the continuing integrity of this process and maintaining the confidence of all citizens in our election results.”

The funding will be used by the local county boards of election to purchase additional electronic poll books, pay for the printing & mailing of absentee ballots, and produce several election-related public service announcements (PSAs) encouraging Ohioans to register to vote and reminding them to vote on or before Nov. 5.

In addition to funding for new pollbooks, the Controlling Board also approved funding for election-related PSAs and for the printing & mailing of vote-by-mail ballots. The Secretary of State’s office estimates that as many as 8M vote-by-mail ballot applications will be printed, addressed and delivered for the Nov. 5 election.
