COLUMBUS – State Rep. Richard Dell'Aquila (D-Seven Hills) today announced that due to Governor DeWine’s signing of House Bill (HB) 101, additional access fee revenue will be deposited into the 9-1-1 Government Assistance Fund, the 9-1-1 Administrative Fund, the 9-1-1 Program Fund, and the NG 9-1-1 Fund.

“As a member of the 9-1-1 Steering Committee, I applaud the Governor’s signature that aligns current law to enhance the potential for Next Generation 9-1-1 services,” said Rep. Dell’Aquila. “As this program continues its pilot stage in some of our state’s counties, I am hopeful that these steps improve our ability to more quickly and reliably respond to Ohioans in times of emergency.”

Next Generation 9-1-1 is a modernization effort to create a more timely and accurate chain of communication between the public and 9-1-1 call centers, allowing Ohioans to share digital media with call centers such as texts, images, and videos. This pilot program would additionally improve the geolocation of network operations, allowing for more precise assistance.
