COLUMBUS – State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) today sent a letter to Governor Mike DeWine respectfully requesting he veto House Bill (HB) 68, the anti-trans youth bill.  

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) and Sara Carruthers (R-Hamilton) this week gave sponsor testimony before the Ohio House Behavioral Health Committee on House Bill (HB) 352. The bipartisan legislation creates a Study Commission for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).  

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) announced today that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) approved economic development proposals, including an expansion project by Worldpay, LLC in Symmes Township (Hamilton County). Worldpay expects to create 529 full-time positions, generating $56.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $93 million in existing payroll.

Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) and Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) this week introduced House Bill (HB) 309, which would create a 10-day waiting period when purchasing a firearm, as well as ensure that permits to carry firearms in public do not exempt purchasers from the 10-day window.

COLUMBUS– State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) announced today the passage of House Bill (HB) 188, legislation that would designate the second full week in June as Ohio Nursing Assistants Week.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) this week introduced House Bill (HB) 287, which would create the Terrace Park License Plate. Twenty dollars of every license plate sold at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles would go directly to the Terrace Park Recreation Commission to offer scholarships to young athletes and maintain athletic facilities in the Village of Terrace Park.

COLUMBUS– The House Democratic Cincinnati Delegation today commend the recent Hamilton County ruling that the state of Ohio cannot block the City of Cincinnati from regulating guns, finding that an Ohio law violates the city’s “home rule” authority.
