State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today announced town hall meetings on August 13 at the Solon Community Center, August 14 at the Lyndhurst Community Center, August 20 at the Chagrin Falls Library Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Libraries, and August 22 at the Brecksville Community Center. Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) will also be appearing and speaking at the Solon Town Hall on August 13.

State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today issued a statement in response to the mass shooting in Dayton, OH, which occurred this past weekend:

“My sincere condolences to the victims’ family members of the mass shootings in both Dayton and El Paso. These tragedies way heavy on my heart. I also want to thank local police and law enforcement for their service in doing what they could to save as many lives as possible. No one can do the difficult job our police do when it comes to dealing with an active shooter situation,” said Rep. Robinson. “As we all grieve for the deceased and hope the wounded make quick physical and emotional recoveries, I hope in the coming weeks that the House, Senate and Gov. DeWine take legislative action in trying to prevent future tragedies. I know I will be doing my part.”

Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today announced the first of his monthly in-district office hours, titled “Robinson Roundtables,” nearly each Saturday in August from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., to give constituents the opportunity to meet with Rep. Robinson, either one-on-one or part of a small group, to engage on state government related issues.

“I want to give my constituents plenty of chances to voice their stances on bills, share legislative ideas, and raise any concerns they have regarding our community,” said Rep. Robinson.

Phil Robinson (D-Solon) yesterday voted a second time in opposition to House Bill (HB) 6, a Republican-sponsored bill to bail out Ohio’s nuclear power plants and subsidize two additional coal-fired power plants that service the state. The bill also guts Ohio’s renewable and energy efficiency standards, which opponents say will hurt job growth in emerging clean energy industries.
