It is my solemn honor to welcome you to the Ohio Statehouse as we commemorate the twenty-fourth anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001. I am deeply grateful to join my colleagues and friends—Senator Hearcel Craig, Secretary of State Frank LaRose, and State Fire Marshal Kevin Reardon—each of whom will offer their reflections tonight. We thank them, and all of you gathered here, for standing together in remembrance.

State Representative Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) today announced that the Ohio House of Representatives approved the conference committee report for Am. Sub. House Bill 96 –the State Operating Budget. The budget plan, which allocates funding for state programs and operations for the next two years, includes provisions that aim to protect freedom, family and fiscal responsibility – approving historic property tax relief for Ohioans, implementing a flat tax rate and providing a record amount of state funding for school districts.
