Miller, Jarrells Provide Sponsor Testimony to Create the Ohio Sports Commission

COLUMBUS – State Representative Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) and Assistant Minority Leader Representative Dontavius L. Jarrells (D-Columbus) provided sponsor testimony in the House Arts, Athletics and Tourism Committee Tuesday to create the Ohio Sports Commission, which would help attract, promote and develop national and international sporting events to Ohio.

Reps. Tom Young, Melanie Miller Introduce Legislation to Expand Physical Education Waiver Policy for Ohio Students

State Representatives Tom Young (R-Washington Twp.) and Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) recently introduced legislation that expands Ohio’s physical education waiver to include club sports or other athletic activities, allowing students who participate in these activities to use them to fulfill graduation requirements.

Representatives McClain and Miller Provide Testimony on Legislation to Expand Midwifery Services in Ohio

COLUMBUS—State Representatives Riordan McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) and Melanie Miller (R- Ashland) yesterday provided sponsor testimony before the House Health Committee on House Bill 224, legislation to create a new licensure framework for midwives in Ohio.

Representatives Miller & King Give Sponsor Testimony for SOS (Secure Our Schools) Act

State Representatives Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) and Angie King (R-Celina) provided sponsor testimony in House Finance Committee on House Bill 106, the Save Our Schools (SOS) Act (formerly known as Alyssa’s Law) – legislation that works to enhance safety in Ohio school districts and communities by creating a pilot grant program that will allow schools the opportunity to purchase a variety of panic alert systems as well as artificial intelligence firearm detection software. These panic alert systems work to help accelerate law enforcement response time when life-threatening emergencies occur on school campuses.
