COLUMBUS – State Rep. Mark Sigrist (D-Grove City) Monday announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved two items under the Department of Development’s Ohio Housing Trust Fund for a combined $22M to combat homelessness in Ohio. Additionally, they approved one item under the Department of Mental Health for $1.1M for I am Boundless Inc cottage renovations in Grove City to provide psychiatric residential treatment programming.
“These investments reflect Ohio’s commitment to ensuring that every person has access to a safe place to call home and the support they need to thrive,” said Rep. Sigrist. “I’m especially proud to see funding for Boundless right here in Grove City, where this project will expand mental health services and provide critical residential treatment options for young people in need. Together, these initiatives strengthen our communities and give more Ohioans a fair chance at stability and recovery.”
The items approved today were:
Item #35: $8.3M awarded to the Supportive Housing Program, a program that provides opportunity for stable, long-term housing for people who are homeless through supportive housing operations.
Item #36: $13.7M awarded to the Homeless Crisis Response Program, a program established to better meet the needs of Ohio’s homeless persons.
