Johnson Celebrates Veterans' Archery Hunt at Zaleski State Forest
COLUMBUS— This week fourteen Ohio veterans participated in an archery hunt of white-tailed deer at Zaleski State Forest. This opportunity was made possible through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and the Buckeye Hero Hunt Committee.
The event sought to honor and celebrate the service of these men and women through comradery and friendship. All veterans in attendance attended free of charge in an effort to not only encourage participation, but also welcome them with open arms.
“I applaud ODNR for their dedication to honoring veterans for their selfless service to protect our country,” State Representative Mark Johnson (R-Chillicothe) said. “This event was an amazing opportunity for these men and women to not only honor their bravery, but also celebrate the comradery between them.”
Outside of the Buckeye Hero Hunt, disabled Ohio veterans may be eligible for a free hunting license. Click here to learn more.
