Johnson Announces Significant Funding for Chillicothe Correctional Institution

COLUMBUS— Today the Ohio State Controlling Board approved $6.5 million in funding for various projects at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution (CCI).

The news is welcomed by State Representative Mark Johnson (R-Chillicothe), who advocated for these funds during negotiations over Ohio’s capital budget for FY 2023-2024, House Bill 597.

“These funds are going to significantly improve the conditions at CCI,” Johnson said. “I am grateful to the Controlling Board for their continued support and approval of this funding for CCI, and I look forward to following the progress of these projects.”

CCI is set to receive $6,475,478 for renovating their medical facility and $27,000 to improve its employee dining room in FY 2023.
