COLUMBUS — State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Crystal Lett (D-Columbus) today announced the reintroduction of the Thriving Families Tax Credit, legislation allowing Ohio’s middle and low-income families to keep more of what they earn.

Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today joined the Ohio House Democratic Caucus in sending a letter to Governor Mike DeWine and Attorney General Dave Yost urging them to not appeal Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Holbrook’s ruling that the governor violated a statue in 2021 when he refused to accept $900M in federal unemployment during the pandemic. The ruling, if not appealed by the attorney general and if the funds are distributed by the governor, means 300K Ohio families will be eligible for meaningful financial support.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) today introduced House Bill (HB) 63, the Safe Stops Act: Preventing Human Trafficking on Our Roads. This legislation would require the maintenance of security cameras at rest areas which the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has jurisdiction.

After picking up two additional seats overall in the last election, Democrats now hold 34 total seats. Of those 34 seats, women made up 11 returning members and added 6 new women to get this moment in history.
