Latyna M. Humphrey News

COLUMBUS - Following Governor DeWine’s State of the State,  State Rep. Latyna M. Humphrey (D-Franklin County) declared she is ready to work on the House Democrats’ People First Agenda that will invest in people to create a state that works for, and represents, all Ohioans.

"Governor Dewine's budget priorities of mental health, expanding health care, and expanding child care coincide with my vision for my district and, frankly, all Ohioans. However, the Governor should also expand on criminal justice and gun reform,” said Rep. Humphrey. “I support the Governor's comprehensive plan to address these things early on with education and childcare. However, it is already too late for so many Ohioans who have fallen victim to the system. We should address these issues by dedicating some of our budgets to social services and extensive criminal justice reform.”

According to Rep. Humphrey, the governor’s priorities closely align with what she envisioned for the state, but much work still needs to be done. It is her goal that in the 135th General Assembly, legislators can work across the aisle to get the work of the people done through this budget. Rep. Humphrey  is committed to putting people first and ensuring that Ohio is open for business to those who believe in fundamental freedoms and who are in search of a fresh start with economic opportunities.
