Rep. Ingram announces appointment to Broadcast Educational Media Commission
State Rep. Catherine D. Ingram (D-Cincinnati) today shared news of her recent appointment as a nonvoting member of the Broadcast Educational Media Commission (BEMC).
BEMC is an independent state agency charged with leading and supporting the state’s educational broadcasting services, including public television and radio programs in support of K-12 education as well as lifelong learning outside the classroom. The Commission works alongside public radio stations such as 91.7 WVXU and WGUC 90.9, and public television station CET-TV in the Cincinnati area.
“As an elected official and educator with over 20 years of service from the classroom to the board of education, I have seen firsthand how public broadcasting can have a positive impact on students,” said Ingram. “I am honored to have the opportunity to help advance educational outcomes and create a positive impact on students and educators through my work on the commission.”
Rep. Ingram was officially appointed on September 7, 2017. The next scheduled meeting of BEMC is November 2, 2017 at BEMC headquarters in Columbus.
