Miller Highlights Southern State Community College Funding

COLUMBUS – Today the State Controlling Board approved the release of $236,542 to aid in the purchase of single source Truck Driving, Healthcare and HVAC training equipment from various vendors for the Workforce Based Training at Southern State Community College, which serves Highland, Brown, Adams, Scioto, Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties in Ohio.

“It is encouraging to see our state investing money in our future generations to ensure that the workforce of the future is correctly trained and outfitted to continue to make the Buckeye State a great place to call home,” said Miller. 

Southern State Community College is the designated fiscal agent for the items purchased by Tri-County Career Center and Scioto County Career Technical Center. 

The next Controlling Board Meeting will be held on the week of April 24.
