Miller Highlights Job Openings at Intel
COLUMBUS – State Representative Kevin Miller (R-Newark) sheds light on Intel posting its first job openings for the new semiconductor plant to be built in Licking County.
The jobs include civil/structural engineer, construction environmental safety engineer, base build project manager, chemical/process construction project engineer, design manager, architectural project engineer and electrical project engineer.
The jobs have been posted on Ohio Means Jobs and Intel is looking to cast a very large net when looking to hire staff for these different positions.
The Intel plants will directly employ 3,000 workers with an average salary of $135,000 according to the company. The local colleges and universities will serve as a talent pipeline for filling these positions.
In addition, 7,000 construction jobs will soon be available which will have a monumental impact on cutting unemployment in the area.
“It’s is extremely encouraging to see these opportunities coming to Licking County and I encourage Ohioans to seize this wonderful opportunity intel has provided to our great state as a result of their investment,” said Miller.
