LaRe, Miller Secure Funding for Buckeye Lake

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.) and Kevin Miller (R-Newark) recently secured $10 million for Buckeye Lake North Shore Park and Pier through the Strategic Community Investment Fund. 

The funds will be used to improve Ohio's first State Park and support the area’s growing tourism. 

“Buckeye Lake is a critical economic driver of our region,” said LaRe. “This funding will ensure generations to come get to experience the beauty of the Buckeye Lake Region and surrounding communities.” 

“This funding will work to transform the Buckeye Lake Region, making it a space for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come,” said Miller. “We must capitalize on what makes our area unique to boost tourism and support the local economy.”

The Strategic Community Investment Fund is part of Substitute House Bill 2, which includes historic investments for local projects across Ohio. These investments will be incorporated as part of the greater State Capital Budget bill, a two-year construction budget for capital projects.

House Bill 2 currently awaits consideration by the Ohio Senate.
