COSHOCTON — If the six candidates for Coshocton County Fair king and seven candidates for queen could agree on anything, it's that they were thankful to have a full fair this year following a severely limited 2020 edition due of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Opening ceremonies were held Friday evening in Hunter Arena, highlighted by the king and queen competition. Britton McCoy, junior fair board president, was crowned queen and Conner Webster, of 4-H Raising Champions Club, was named king. Both are seniors at River View High School.
Jason Massie, president of the senior fair board, said the past two years have been tough, but they wanted to put that behind them.
"We've got a heck of a show going on out there," Massie said as he pointed toward the midway.
