Rep. Brownlee Introduces Resolution Urging U.S. Department of Justice to Release Full, Unredacted Epstein Files
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) today announced that she will soon introduce a resolution in the Ohio House of Representatives urging the United States Department of Justice to release the full, unredacted files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal enterprises. Rep. Brownlee is calling on all her colleagues, Democratic and Republican, to cosponsor the resolution.
“The Epstein case isn’t just about one individual—it’s about a system that allowed exploitation and abuse of young women and children to go unchecked for years. Victims deserve honesty, and the public deserves leadership who will put serious effort into ending human trafficking, sexual abuse and assault. Releasing these files will help restore faith in our justice system and stop the current attempts by those who were complicit in these crimes to revise history,” said Rep. Brownlee. “As elected officials, we have a heightened responsibility to protect children and hold pedophiles and child abusers accountable. I am calling on all legislators, regardless of party, to join us in the resolution, because this is about humanity, not party.”
The resolution emphasizes:
- The need for government transparency to restore public trust;
- The importance of holding all perpetrators accountable, regardless of status; and
- The responsibility to protect victims and ensure their stories are fully heard.
“This resolution is about affirming that no one is above the law,” added Rep. Brownlee. “It is time to take sexual crimes against women and children seriously, so we can have a safer future for all Ohioans.”
If adopted, the resolution will be formally sent to the U.S. Department of Justice, the president of the United States, the leadership of Congress, and Ohio’s congressional delegation.
