Rep. Brownlee, House Dems Call on Governor DeWine to Veto Anti-Economic, Anti-Workers' Rights Senate Bill 1

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Karen Brownlee (D-Symmes Twp) Wednesday along with other members of the Ohio House Democratic Caucus sent a letter to Governor Mike DeWine respectfully requesting he veto Senate Bill (SB) 1, the Higher Education Destruction Act.

“Based on the number of calls and emails we received, Senate Bill 1 is not wanted by Ohioans. Universities in Ohio will be less competitive in attracting students and educators. We call on Governor DeWine to do the right thing for Ohioans and veto this bill,” said Rep. Brownlee.

In trying to solve problems that do not exist, SB 1 creates new issues that will increase costs, stifle growth, and prevent Ohio’s young adults from reaching their full potential.
