COLUMBUS –The Ohio Controlling Board recently approved the release of $236,786.14 that will be used to make improvements to the Wolfden Lake Dam located within Shawnee State Forest, announced State Rep. Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County).
More specifically, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will contract with Sunesis Construction Co. to make dam spillway improvements and install hillside drainage and erosion control improvements adjacent to the spillway system. Additionally, a new metal stairwell to improve safety will be installed.
“This investment is critical to maintain and preserve local water infrastructure,” said Pizzulli.
The Wolfden Lake Dam was originally completed in 1936.
