COLUMBUS—Scioto County was recently awarded $288,000 by the Ohio Department of Development to support a community development and infrastructure project, announced State Rep. Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County).

This funding will specifically support the Shawnee State Golden Bears Program, which will provide physical and social health services to 773 Scioto County senior citizens.

“An investment in community development and infrastructure today is an investment in our future,” said Pizzulli. “I am extremely grateful for this funding.”

The funding will also allow the county to conduct flood and drainage improvements in the Village of Otway, benefiting 100 residents.

In total, 49 communities in 45 counties will receive $10.9 million in allocations to support community development projects throughout the state.
