Rep. Pizzulli Highlights Biennial Ohio House High School Student Art Exhibition Awardee

State Representative Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County) today recognized April San Nicolas, a District 90 high school student whose artwork was selected to be included in the House of Representatives High School Student Art Exhibition. 

“When I saw ‘Pain,’ I was struck by my own interpretation of the piece: that we all carry struggles that may not be visible to others,” said Pizzulli. “To me, it represents the vulnerability of the human heart, but also its remarkable ability to endure and keep moving forward. I’m proud to see such powerful creativity and talent represented by students from the 90th House District.”

This biennial art exhibition showcases the creativity and talent of high school students from all 99 House districts and is on display in the hallway connecting the Vern Riffe Center and the Ohio Statehouse.

The House High School Student Art Exhibition was established in 2016 under the 131st General Assembly. High school art teachers from across the state are invited to submit their students' art for consideration by the Ohio Arts Council, which helps select pieces featured in the exhibition and works in partnership with the Ohio Art Education Association on the project.
