Pizzulli Highlights Funding for Demolition and Brownfield Remediation Projects in Adams County

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County) is pleased to announce that Adams County was recently awarded funding to support local brownfield remediation and building demolition projects.
Funding details for the brownfield remediation projects are as follows:
- $497,450 will be utilized for the Manchester Bi-Lo Project to remedy the excavation and disposal of petroleum-contaminated soil at a former gas station site, which includes the removal of approximately 2,300 tons of impacted soil and groundwater treatment.
- $502,410 will be utilized by the Adams County Land Reutilization Corporation for the cleanup of the Manchester Pants Factory. The project includes asbestos reduction, the demolition of a former manufacturing building, and the removal of contaminated soil in order to reduce environmental and safety hazards and prepare the site for future development.
“This funding will help prepare these sites for future economic development opportunities and restore the health and wellbeing of our communities,” said Pizzulli.
Adams County was also awarded a total of $1,049,792 for the demolition and revitalization of 24 sites throughout the county.
Overall, $52 million was distributed to support brownfield remediation and building demolition projects across the state.
