Brown County Awarded Rural Industrial Park Loan
COLUMBUS –The Ohio Controlling Board recently approved the release of $375,000 from the Rural Industrial Park Loan Program (RIPL) to be used by the Georgetown Port Authority for a local development project, announced State Rep. Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County).
The loan, representing 75% of the total project cost, will specifically be used to purchase 41-acres of commercial real estate in Brown County with the goal of attracting industrial companies, creating jobs, and fostering economic development.
“I look forward to seeing the job growth and economic development this project directly facilitates,” said Pizzulli.
The RIPL provides low-interest direct loans to assist counties, municipalities, townships, non-profit organizations, port authorities, community improvement corporations, and private developers in financing the development and improvement of industrial parks and related off-site public infrastructure improvements in rural areas.
