COLUMBUS –State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) recognizes and celebrates Juneteenth, a federal holiday on June 19 commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans and the end of slavery in the United States. 

CLEVELAND – State Representative and President of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus, Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland), issued a statement today regarding the second anniversary of the murder of George Floyd. On May 25th, 2020, George Floyd was arrested on the suspicion that he had used a counterfeit bill to make a purchase.

COLUMBUS - Today State Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) and Democratic members of the Ohio House of Representatives Commerce and Labor Committee issued statements after being denied answers to questions on HB 466, legislation that would cap staffing agency charges to nursing homes and significantly increase Medicaid payments for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) using COVID relief dollars.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) today voted in favor of House Bill (HB) 377, bipartisan legislation to release the second, $442 million batch of local government funding from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan to Ohio’s cities, villages and townships serving 50,000 people or less.
