COLUMBUS— Today, Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) applauded the House passage of House Bill (HB) 93, legislation to modify the state’s address confidentiality program (Safe at Home), a long-held Democratic priority that allows victims of domestic violence, stalking, rape, human trafficking, or sexual battery who fear for their safety to keep their address confidential and out of the public record.

Brent (D-Cleveland) re-introduced legislation today to designate each February 21 in Ohio as “Congressman John Lewis Voter Registration Day” in memory of his long legacy.  Reps. Brent and Crossman originally introduced the legislation last General Assembly, but the bill did not receive any hearings.

Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland), Catherine Ingram (D-Cincinnati), Erica Crawley (D-Columbus), Sedrick Denson (D-Cincinnati), and State Sens. Hearcel Craig (D-Columbus), and Vernon Sykes (D-Akron). The new leadership team briefly outlined a plan to better engage Black Ohioans and build the necessary coalitions across the state to improve the everyday lives of all Ohioans.
