Rep. Brent Urges East Cleveland School be Released from Academic Distress Commission

COLUMBUS — State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today praised the East Cleveland City School for achieving a three-star rating. This achievement underscores the district’s potential for success and highlights the urgent need to shift full control back to the school board.

“East Cleveland City School District achievement of three-star rating demonstrates that progress happens because of the commitment of local educators and families—not because of state takeovers. I stand with the East Cleveland community in demanding the full restoration of local governance for their schools. East Cleveland deserves the right to determine its own educational future,” said Rep. Brent.
