Rep. Brent Joins New Violence Intervention Program Advisory Board

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today announced that she will be joining the new Violence Intervention Program Advisory Board, which aims to reduce community violence in Ohio.

“I’m honored to participate in this inaugural board,” said Rep. Brent. “Our goal is clear: invest in people, heal trauma, interrupt cycles of harm, and measure what works so every neighborhood can be safer without sacrificing trust or dignity.”

The Violence Intervention Program Advisory Board is a newly established body focused on reducing community violence through evidence-based interventions, survivor supports, and cross-sector collaboration. The Board provides recommendations on program standards, evaluation, and equitable resource allocation.
