Rep. Brent Condemns Anti- Transgender Bill
COLUMBUS - State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today denounces passage of the Senate Bill (SB) 104, the College Credit Plus Program bill which was amended with House Bill (HB) 183 to include a transgender bathroom and locker room ban.
“Our kid’s genitals should not be the state's concern,” said Rep. Brent. “The GOP continues to lie when they say they want to protect our children. Protecting our children includes commonsense gun legislation, increased wrap-around services and protecting public education funding. Instead, the GOP wants to harm transgender youth, that will cause our public schools to pay for it literally.”
HB 183 was amended into SB 104 on the House floor and was passed with a (60-31) vote. This bill now heads back to the Senate for concurrence.
