COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today made a statement in response to Gov. DeWine's veto of Senate Bill (SB) 50, which would allow 14- and 15-year-olds to work until 9 p.m. on school nights.
“That extra two hours is homework time. It’s dinner with your family. It’s time to rest,” said Rep. Brent. “In the communities I represent, our kids are already juggling long bus rides, crowded classrooms, and family responsibilities. We should be fighting to give them more time to learn and sleep, not more hours on the clock for low-wage work.”
