Ohio Property Tax Bills Pass Through the House Floor Without Real Relief for Ohioans

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Juanita O. Brent (D-Cleveland) today issued a statement following the passage of two property tax bills, House Bill (HB) 186 and House Bill 335 on the House floor.

“Our children’s education should not be the price we pay for property tax reform,” said Rep. Brent. “There are smarter, fairer ways to give Ohioans relief — like expanding the Homestead Exemption or linking taxes to income — that don’t shortchange our students. Communities, not policies that leave homeowners behind. Let’s fix what’s broken, not break what’s working.”
