Rep. Miller praises Lorain County Boys and Girls Club expansion
State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) today announced the allocation of $500,000 in state funding for the Lorain County Boys and Girls Club to expand their Lorain headquarters. The project, which will add over 17,000 square feet to the existing facility, will increase the organization’s capacity to serve youth and families at their Education and Wellness Center.
“I am excited to see how the Boys and Girls Club grows with this new addition to their building,” said Rep. Miller. “Their work is pivotally important to so many families in our area, and it’s great to see the state supporting that.”
The funds, which were approved Monday by the state Controlling Board, are coupled with a contract tying the Lorain County Boys and Girls Club to their current location for at least an additional 30 years. With the new funding, the organization expects to serve over 6,000 individuals and families annually.
