Rep. Miller Announces Passage of HCR 7 to Support American Legion Buckeye Boys State & Buckeye Girls State
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) today announced the passage of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 7 out of the Ohio House of Representatives. HCR 7 expresses the legislature’s support of the American Legion Buckeye Boys State & Buckeye Girls State.
“While this resolution directly supports both the American Legion Buckeye Girls State & Buckeye Boys State, it also aims to support my larger mission of increased civic engagement in our youth,” said Rep. Miller.
Buckeye Boys State is occurring this week, June 8th through the 15th. This program includes hundreds of delegates from across the state, and they will get a full week of hands-on experience in the operation of our government, elections, and the organization of political parties. Similarly, Buckeye Girls State is designed to educate Ohio’s young women in good citizenship and the processes of city, county, and state government in a week-long program.
