COLUMBUS – State Rep. Joe Miller (D–Amherst) today celebrated the release of one million dollars to support the new construction of 62 units of supportive housing targeted at combatting homelessness in Lorain County.

“This funding will help keep people housed and connected to vital services like healthcare and job training,” said Rep. Miller “I want every Ohioan to be able to live a dignified life and projects like this ensure that this is not reserved for a privileged few.”

Emerald Development and Economic Network, Inc. (EDEN) has decades of experience in providing affordable housing for vulnerable populations including those experiencing homelessness, veterans, people with disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence. This new development at Broadway Commons will continue this legacy by providing additional housing and on-site behavioral health and supported employment services. 12 units are reserved for veterans.

“Seeing the community come together like this to make sure that we are taking care of our most vulnerable is the spirit of Lorain County,” said Rep. Miller “This is what makes me the most proud of this county – everyone putting their heads together to create the changes that we need.”

Broadway Commons is expected to begin leasing in Fall of 2027.
