Lorain Police Department Receives $35K Marine Patrol Assistance Grant

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Joe Miller (D-Amherst) today announced that the Lorain Police Department will be receiving a Marine Patrol Assistance Grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft for the enforcement and safety of the town’s lakefront. 

“The safety and accessibility of our lakefront is necessary for our neighbors to enjoy one of Ohio’s greatest natural resources. The Lorain Police Department will utilize these funds to make sure that boaters and their families have the opportunity to enjoy Lake Erie safely and responsibility,” said Rep. Miller. 

Marine Patrols are intended to provide enforcement of Ohio’s boating rules and regulations and as well as emergency response to boating accidents that occur on the water.
