House Passes COVID-19 Emergency Response Legislation
COLUMBUS – State Representative Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) announced today the passage of Amendments to Sub House Bill 197. The bill, which was unanimously passed, will serve as a Legislative Response Package to the current public health crisis, COVID-19.
“I am glad we were able to come together and make these changes so that our state government continues to function as effectively as possible,” said Stephens. “We need to try to stay positive during this time. Let’s look into Ohio’s bright future and work though this together.”
Included in the response package, among a number of other measures, are the extension of tax filing and unemployment benefits, the reduction of testing burdens on students and teachers and the extension of the mail-in ballot period for the primary election until April 28, 2020.
