Representative Jason Stephens - District 93

The Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 230, legislation to directly combat drug and human trafficking in Ohio on Wednesday.

“Open border policies at the federal level have left Ohio vulnerable. We see the devastating aftermath of this crisis every day,” Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) said. “We must do everything we can to combat the drugs and cartels pouring across out southern border and keep our communities safe. House Bill 230 will do just that.”

The Ohio House of Representatives approved the historic Strategic Community Investment Fund, as part of Substitute House Bill 2 on Wednesday.

This one-time funding will be administered to statewide, regional, and local projects, nearly $16.2 million of which will directly serve the 93rd House District and the surrounding communities. 

“There is a bright future ahead for Ohio.  This has been a remarkable opportunity to invest resources in areas we otherwise wouldn’t be able to,” said Stephens.  “These are meaningful investments that will impact our communities around our region, for decades to come.”

Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) has released the following statement regarding Governor DeWine’s veto of Sub. House Bill 68:

“It is disappointing that the Governor vetoed House Bill 68, the SAFE Act and Save Women’s Sports.  The bill sponsors, and The House, have dedicated nearly three years to get the bill right — to empower parents and protect children. It was passed by veto-proof majorities in each chamber. We will certainly discuss as a caucus and take the appropriate next steps.”

Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) announced today a $96 million continued investment in the Chesapeake Bypass on State Route 7.
