COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed legislation that would give Ohio families more freedom and flexibility over their financial decisions.

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today honored Brutus Buckeye during the Ohio House session in celebration of his 50th anniversary as mascot of The Ohio State University. Brutus was presented with a resolution that was sponsored by Representative Niraj Antani (R-Miami Township) and Representative Michael Stinziano (D-Columbus).

COLUMBUS—State Representatives Jeff Rezabek (R-Clayton) and Bill Hayes (R-Harrison Township) today took another step in improving the education system in Ohio by introducing legislation reforming truancy law in the state.

During today’s voting session, the Ohio House of Representatives passed a resolution encouraging the export of oil in the United States.

Individuals who legally look after children identified as having autism would be able to apply for an Autism Scholarship on behalf of the child, based on legislation passed during today’s Ohio House session.

State Representatives Nan Baker (R-Westlake) and Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) today applauded the passage of House Bill 300, legislation that would strengthen the penalties on drivers who are convicted of OVI-related aggravated vehicular homicide.

Today the Ohio House unanimously passed legislation, sponsored by State Representatives Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) and Robert McColley (R-Napoleon), creating the D.O.L.L.A.R. Deed program (Deed Over, Lender Leaseback, Agreed Refinance). House Bill 303 will provide homeowners the option to remain in their homes as a tenant instead of facing foreclosure. 

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 207, sponsored by State Representatives Mike Henne (R-Clayton) and Robert McColley (R-Napoleon). HB 207 addresses issues of workers’ compensation claims that involve motor vehicle accidents caused by a third party.

COLUMBUS—During today’s session, the Ohio House of Representatives approved legislation that increases the age for which persons are eligible to receive foster care and adoption assistance, as well as addresses issues associated with caring for the more than 67,000 juvenile and elderly Ohioans subject to guardianship in the state.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Jeff Rezabek (R-Clayton) today applauded the House’s passage of legislation he sponsored that would prohibit a person younger than 18 from purchasing any product containing dextromethorphan, an ingredient commonly found in cough and cold medicines. The bill makes the violation of this prohibition a minor misdemeanor.
