COLUMBUS—The Ohio House Finance Committee began hearings on House Bill 629, containing the State’s Capital Improvement Budget as well as Ohio’s One Time Strategic Community Investment Fund, announced Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord). Among the projects successfully included in HB 629 are funds for improvements to water infrastructure in Concord, the Alliance for Working Together in Mentor, and the Lake Metroparks.

Included in the bill is House Bill 350, legislation to dedicate State Route 44 between Mentor Avenue and Prouty Road the “Lance Corporal Austin B. Schwenk Memorial Highway,” announced State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Daniel Troy (D-Wickliffe).

COLUMBUS–The House Insurance Committee yesterday held sponsor testimony on House Bill 400, announced bill sponsors, State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake). House Bill 400 aims to extend Medigap coverage to patients in Ohio diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). While ESRD and ALS patients are federally eligible to receive Medicare Part B Coverage, Ohio does not allow them to purchase Medigap coverage.
