Controlling Board Approves Funds for Lakeland Community College
COLUMBUS – The Ohio Controlling Board and State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord) announced Monday the release of more than $94,000 to Lakeland Community College to improve safety and security around the campus.
“I’m pleased with the Controlling Board’s release of these funds,” Callender said. “This approval will enhance the safety of our students and provide them greater peace of mind as they learn.”
The funds will help upgrade security at building entrances and be used to install state of the art security cameras around the campus. A pair of electronic marquee signs will also be purchased to help keep campus personnel informed of emergencies or other notifications.
These security improvements will help to enhance campus safety and enable quicker building access for mutual aid with local first responders.
The next controlling board meeting is scheduled for Feb. 14th.
