Callender Continues Support for Funding of Local Projects
State Rep. Jamie Callender (R-Concord) has announced funding for the latest local projects located within the 61st Ohio House District. The measures approved at the State Controlling Board meeting were appropriations for both Lakeland Community College and Great Lakes Power Products Inc. located in Madison Village.
“The State Controlling Board is a body that approves so many statewide projects and forms of funding that are being allocated across our state,” said Callender. “I grateful that I have the opportunity to push for local projects that help uplift our communities right here within Lake County.”
Callender is referring to two measures, the first is nearly $50,000 to Lakeland Community College for renovations to assist the higher education institution. Additionally, a substantial $200,000 Roadwork Development Grant was approved for Great Lakes Power Products Inc. to help with roadwork and infrastructure improvements. The project is expected to create 20 new jobs and retain 50 jobs.
Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses. Eligible costs include widening, paving, road construction and reconstruction, and right-of-way infrastructure improvements such as sewer or utility lines.
The next State Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for May 3.
