Callender Announces $131,340.63 to Lakeland Community College
COLUMBUS – State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord) announced today that the State Controlling Board approved the release of $131,340.63 for the Workforce Based Training and Equipment program at Lakeland Community College located in Kirtland, Lake County.
The community college will use these funds to purchase and provide health equipment for both current and future students pursuing a career in healthcare. The equipment purchased will benefit students studying to become nurses, surgical techs, medical assistants and dental hygienists.
“Skilled workers in healthcare are in high demand and these funds will help make sure today’s students in the medical field receive the best training possible,” Callender said. “It is imperative that we continue to invest in our future generations to ensure our workforce is prepared for the challenges they will face in today’s workforce.”
