Representative Hoops Appointed Vice Chair of House Committee
COLUMBUS—State Representative Jim Hoops (R-Napoleon) today was appointed by Speaker Cliff Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) to the Financial Institutions, Housing and Urban Development (FIHUD) Committee in the role of vice chair.
“I’m excited about being appointed to committees that are very important to my 81st House District,” Hoops said. “Each one of these committees affects the lives of people in my district and across the state of Ohio on a daily basis. As technology changes we need to continue looking at these areas making sure government stays out of the way and doesn’t create road blocks but at the same time make sure the interest of the tax payers are also part of the discussions.”
The FIHUD Committee is tasked with vetting legislation dealing with regulation of both the banking and credit union industries, as well as economic revitalization within Ohio communities.
In addition to FIHUD, Hoops was also appointed to the following House committees:
• Agriculture and Rural Development
• Energy and Natural Resources
• State and Local Government
Hoops represents the 81st House District, which consists of Putnam, Henry and Williams counties, as well as part of Fulton County.
Returning to the Ohio House earlier this year, Hoops previously served in the House from 1999-2006 and also served as Henry County Auditor from 1985-1998.
