Rep. Hoops Votes in Support of Resolution Honoring the U.S. Marine Corps on 250th Anniversary
COLUMBUS—State Representative Jim Hoops (R- Napoleon) yesterday voted in support of House Concurrent Resolution 21 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.
“As we begin our celebration of this Country’s 250th Birthday, it is so important to also recognize the individuals who, by their actions and sacrifices, made sure our country has made it to this incredible milestone of 250 years,” said Hoops.
The resolution states in part: “That we, the members of the 136th General Assembly of the State of Ohio, in adopting this resolution, recognize the 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.”
In addition, HCR 21 recognizes the Marine Corps’ motto, “Semper Fidelis,” or “Always Faithful,” and the nearly 38,000 Marines forward deployed around the world on any given day, underscoring the Corp’s role as first responders on an international scale.
